I returned an item, fully ticketed and with the receipt, but received the lowest sale price for the return rather than the full price I paid. It was a significant difference.

When I called the store for an explanation, I was directed to read the fine print at the bottom of the receipt which states that "dresses and special occasion separates may be exchanged or returned within 90 days." I am not in the habit of reading all the fine print on my receipts and I don't know anyone else who is. If this is the store's policy, perhaps the cashiers should tell their customers as they are making their purchases. Although I did go over the 90 days (just over the 90 days by the way) and the policy is stated on the receipt, I still feel like I was robbed.

Once I use the store credit I got for the return, I will never shop there again.

Monetary Loss: $45.

Location: Lawrence Township, New Jersey

Yes, I have yet to receive my money for Dress I returned as soon as I received it. That was in November 2018!

I did not take the tags off. I paid $200.00 for this dress. I am really furious that they can do this.

Do Not Buy Anything From This Store!!!!!!!!! They have poor business practices!!!

Never buy anything from L&T in the event you may want or need to return it!! After 4 calls to customer service, I have still not received a shipping label.!!

Guest

I agree with customer, especially since L&T is supposed to be a "high end" store.

Almost 3 months and have not received credit for 2 returned dresses within a few weeks of receiving them. With a tracking no that shows they received the returned items and numerous calls and emails and still no credit on my account.

They keep giving me the run around .

I will never shop or order for Lord and Taylor. This is beyond reasonable

Soooooo, you're complaining about a $45 loss, but the store gives you 90 WHOLE DAYS to return something???? And YOU didn't return it in a timely fashion???

Sounds like someone probably worn the dress and now NEEDS her cash back. I'm sure they won't care if you ever purchase anything else or not.

That's a horrible thing to say. You don't know the facts should not assume she wore it.

Yes and she paid the price of not returning it on time. No need to make her feel worse

I ordered several high end dresses for my son's upcoming wedding and I have not had an issue returning any of them for full price. I DID read the fine print so I wouldn't get in a bind and this is CLEARLY on you for not being aware.

90 days is more than enough time to make a decision about a purchase, the policy is actually very generous! Even though the item was unworn and still tagged, the store likely cannot place it back on the floor at full price as it is probably now a clearance item.

Stores are not lending libraries, they need to make a profit to remain viable. Allowing someone to take merchandise out of play for 90 days and then refunding their money and having to sell it at a discount is not good for business.

First of all, 90 days is a long time to keep something until you decide to return it. Most stores have only 30 days.

If it takes you over 3 months to decide you want to return something the problem isnโ€™t with the store, itโ€™s with you. And it is your fault for not reading the return policy. Most people may not read it, but thatโ€™s the policy what do you want them to do. Thatโ€™s like signing a contract or lease without reading the terms.

Itโ€™s not their fault you didnโ€™t read it, you still signed it. Cashiers shouldnโ€™t have to tell each and every customer the return policy because customers should be smart enough to read it on the back of their receipt.

Iโ€™ve shopped there many times, their return policy doesnโ€™t suck. People just want to be able to return things whenever they want, get the full amount of what they paid for and it doesnโ€™t work like that.

Rat poison says do not ingest but I too believe it's a suggestion, brb gonna go taste it.

The fine print on mac and cheese box also says consuming too much of yellow 5 will cause mental retardation, I am sure you have read it too .

Guest

you went over the 90 days. and you should always read the fine print when you purchase. no fault on their own.

Who is the bank that Lord & Taylor uses for their credit card? If it is Synchrony Bank then you have some real problems.
